Anderson Paak's new album. Will it be able to hold up to his previous iconic albums, full of sick beats and smart lyrics? A prolific musician, so we sure hope he can! 'Yes Lawd!!!'
Brandon Paak Anderson, or as we know him by his Stage name, Anderson .Paak, Is a 32 year old rapper/ Hip Hop artist . He was also formally known as Breezy Lovejoy, a pseudonym of his name, yet at that time of his life he said he “wasn’t taking his image as seriously”. However, his success forced him to become a little more focused on his music, abandoning his 'breezy' attitude, and after experiencing a tough life at home as a child, Andy managed to write and publish his first album under the name Anderson .Paak which was called Venice. He later produced Malibu in 2016. For Malibu, Paak was nominated for "Best Urban Contemporary Album". (Smooth as a MOFO!)
His sound could be described as a warm blend of R&B, jazz and funk, with a few hints of reggae house beats. In simple terms, picture yourself lying on a beach, or possibly slipping down a slide lined with velvet. These soft, 'suede' notes of his voice, are complemented by his fast rhythmic drum beats, composed by the mastermind himself. When accompanied by the 'Free-Nationals' they take it to a new level . Cheeky Andy will become your very own legal high, once you start listening, you just wont want to stop!
Paak has collaborated with numerous artists, from 'Mack Miller' to 'Domo Genesis', but perhaps his most plausible collab is with Dr.Dre. Prior to making ‘Venice’ in 2014 Paak signed with Dr.Dre who also helped him move off the streets with his pregnant wife at the time. As soon as Paak signed on to Dre he sang on 6 songs on Dre’s comeback album ‘Compton’ alongside other names such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar. At this stage Paak was barely heard of, despite this he became Dre’s latest protege. And to prove just how ingenious and talented this guy is, the last time an artist spent as much time with Dre in a studio was back when Dre discovered the now mega-stars Eminem and Snoop Dogg. He is on track to be as big as these guys!
Fast forward to today and Paak has been seen on multiple American talk shows promoting his albums, and most recently promoting his new single ‘Bubblin’' which has had a huge impact in the music industry, being featured in TV commercials, and main-stream radio such as BBC Radio 1. At the time of writing this article, Bubblin has 9 million plays on YouTube and around the same on Spotify, but one could easily expect to see these numbers grow.
And as fans, we are 'bubbling' with excitement at the fact that Anderson Paack is soon to be releasing new music!
Recently, Paak posted on his Instagram his finalised tour dates, (Ps - deffo recommend taking a look at his Instagram @anderson._paak . It's a piece of art!). By looking at his tour dates he finishes on the 31st of July, so one can assume that the long awaited album (name of it still unknown), should be released around mid to late August. Possibly one could assume or hope that this album will have a more hip hop feel to it, due to a large influence from Dr.Dre. We have seen livestreams multiple times of Paak and Dre recording in the studio and getting along like "milk and hone

y". It seems these two have become excellent friends.
As for now, we have to wait! But one can hope he wont keep us hanging for too long, as this album drop is well anticipated. But when it does... "YES LAWD!".
